Day 1 September 14 - Depart US for Italy

September 15 

Podere Santa Maria

Day 2 September 15 - Arrive Rome International Airport transport to Podere Santa Maria. You will be staying at a rustic Tuscan house in the province of Grosseto, we will stay this hotel the entire tour. 

The property offers great hospitality and excellent services. It has been in the same family for generations and is situated on gorgeous land. Elena and Tonino will introduce you to local cuisine. All your foods are homemade and locally grown and farm raised. There its a pool and opportunity to walk around the farmhouse. We will have a beautiful welcome dinner by our hosts. Bus leaves Rome at 4 pm, please plan on arriving beforehand.

September 16

Pienza & Montalcino

Day 3 September 16 - After breakfast we head to Pienza. Originally just a village like many others in the area, Pienza saw it’s history and fame change in the late 1400s.
This town was once home to Pope Pius II who had a vision of creating a perfect Renaissance town. Pienza is a beautiful hilltop town in Tuscany with a distinct character, stunning location and interesting history. There are a number of artisan shops in this town, including foods, leather, ceramic and iron works. After Pienza we head to Montalcino to walk around and sample what locals call the best gelato at “Why not?” there are over 15 flavors to choose from. Why not?

September 17 

Castello di Potentino

Day 4 September 17 - Winery and wellness day. In the morning we will have a walk around the property. Options for meditation and breathing exercises. Other option for a bit more intense but still light exercises. There is also an opportunity to use the pool and spa.  We will then head to Castello di Potentino in Seggiano, a real castle run by  British family for a wine tasting  and a tour of the property.   Back at the villa we will have a beautiful dinner with home made foods.

September 18 

Bagno Vignoni & Buonconvento 

Day 5 September 18 - After breakfast we head to Buonconvento to walk around this non touristy small town and enjoy a caffe with the locals. Later we will go to Bagno Vignoni, This town is renowned for its volcanic springs. We will stop at a great cafe for Gelato and a shop that sells locally made organic products like teas, creams and soups. NOTE: You will have an opportunity to use the pool with thermal waters. Half day entrance is about 27 euro so bring your bathing suits.  Back to the villa with some time to relax before dinner.

September 19 

Siena & San Quirino D'Orcia

Day 6 September 19 -  After breakfast we head to Siena one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany,  we'll tour this medieval jewel discovering its fascinating atmosphere.  On the way  to San Quirico D' Orcia we stop at I Lecci a fantastic restaurant where the locals eat. After a stroll we get back on the bus and head to San Quirico. This small village is in the Val d’Orcia. We will walk around the old center known for the beauty of it medieval architecture. Plenty of opportunity for shopping and why not grab another Gelato? Dinner at the villa

September 20 

Talamone & Montenero

Day 7  September 20 - The town of Talamone stands on a rocky promontory, located on the southern border of the Maremma Natural Park. There is a volcanic beach that is quite interesting. The town is in a dominant position over the entire stretch of coast that goes from Talamone to Monte Argentario. After a relaxing stroll by the sea we head to Montenero for a family run vineyard tour, tasting and sampling local products.

September 21 

San Gimignano

Day 8  September 21 - After breakfast we will visit San Gimignano. The city is on the ridge of a hill with its main axis being north/south. It is encircled by three walls and has at its highest point, to the west, the ruins of a fortress. The medieval town is known for its imposing towers, churches, quaint cobblestone streets and plenty of shopping. Dinner back at the villa.

September 22

Cooking Demo

Day 9 September 22 - Cooking demo at the villa. But first  we will take a beautiful walk around the property soaking in the warm Tuscan sun and reflecting on your experience. One last chance for a swim in the pool or use the spa.  Later we will have an early farewell dinner

September 23

Day 10 September 23 - Transport to Rome International Airport for flights home.

We recommend trip insurance. Even with the best intentions, things can happen and for this reason we strongly recommend the purchase of insurance.


CANCELLATION PENALTIES: 

Cancellations must be received in writing (can include email). The charges below will apply from the date we receive your written notice.
- The Initial Trip Deposit of $750 per person is fully non-refundable. We can hold this deposit for  2 years should you wish to reschedule on any of our tours.
- 60 to 50 days before departure you will lose 50% of the trip cost already paid or deposit, whichever is greater
- 49 to 11 days before departure you will lose 80% of the cost of the trip cost already paid or deposit whichever is greater  
- 10 days or fewer before departure, you will lose 100% of your trip cost paid 
Price is guaranteed on a minimum of 4 participants.
